Hello, my name is Rachael, an Integrative Counsellor working predominantly in the areas of trauma and bereavement. I first became interested in mental health whilst volunteering for a national cancer charity and decided to train as a counsellor, leaving my corporate career behind me.
Whilst I am experienced in a wide range of issues my practice mostly involves working with individuals who are living with anxiety disorders such as PTSD, OCD, panic attacks, agoraphobia and generalised anxiety disorder as a result of trauma or bereavement. I am able to offer pre-trial therapy to you if you are considering reporting, or have already reported a crime to the police.
I have undertaken additional training in trauma and bereavement, and am certified as a Complex Trauma Specialist and an Advanced Grief Counselling Specialist so I have the knowledge, skills and experience to support you on your journey. I believe counselling works best when it is a collaborative process between us and the benefit of being an Integrative Counsellor is that I can introduce a number of different theories, tools and techniques to your sessions, rather than being limited to working with just one approach.
I am here to offer you a safe, confidential space where you can explore what is troubling you as we work together on finding a solution. My role is to help you process unresolved thoughts and emotions and to offer strategies and support as you change unwanted behaviours. My clients tell me that I make them feel validated and understood.
